Interconnection screening completed by ERCOT: Cleared for up to 96 MW ac
- STUDY I: SUMMER CASE POST-INTERCONNECTION N-1 ANALYSIS
ERCOT calculated the N-1 transfer capability of the post-interconnection system by modeling incrementally larger generation transfers up to 96 MW (20% greater than the proposed 80 MW output of the project). The study determined that, under N-1 contingency conditions, project had no limits up to 96 MW.
- STUDY II: HIGH-WIND CASE POST-INTERCONNECTION N-1 ANALYSIS
Study II determines the N-1 transfer limit if the nearby wind output is higher than it is assumed to be in the first study. The study determined that, under N-1 contingency conditions, project had no limits up to 96 MW.
- STUDY III: SUB-SYNCHRONOUS INTERACTION STUDY
The interconnection point of the proposed generation project is at low risk for sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) with nearby series capacitors and a full SSR study is deemed not necessary at this point in time under expected grid conditions for the project’s in-service date timeline.
ERCOT completed interconnection screening in June 2023
No transmission line or SSR limitations were found
ERCOT will waive requirement for SSR study
